FJR 1st Saturday takes off!

I think it started with a conversation MBottoms and I were having about the need to organize regular rides or get together for the DFW FJR pilots and today we had our first.

From the talk on the FJR forum it sounded like we'd have maybe 5 or 6 folks getting together but it was a pleasant surprise to have almost twice that many.

We started out at the Starbuck's in Euless and 157 and 183 and had planned on the following route. google map

From there we saddled up and headed north. Once we got past Justin, traffic started to really thin out and it wasn't too long before we had the roads mostly to ourselves which was really a good thing give that a line of ten bikes can get pretty long. I paced myself behind Nosecone and we made the trek to Nocona where we stopped for gasoline and lunch at what proved to be the hottest dining place in town... Dairy Queen.

From there we saddled up and headed to the bridge across into Oklahoma where we stopped and took some more pictures. I think Michelle finally managed to get a group photo taken by some random biker taking a rest there. I'll add that if I get my hands on it.

After this quick photo-op we turned around and made a hasty exit of the Okie lands (some of us hastier than others) and headed south to see some Texas Style ranch art.

This place is located about 5-10 miles south of St. Jo. I didn't take any pictures of the artwork since I've previously posted that here, but I did snag some of the group.

At that point I was getting ready to break off and head home but as we talked about it we agreed that we should all head south and get home. It was a little dissappointing watching people split off to head off for home at different points on the trip back, until finally Harold waved as he headed south on 360 in Grapevine and I made my way home. But I guess it's having good riding days like that with good people that make you want to do it again. Thanks to everyone that made it out and especially to Ryan for setting a great pace and getting us all there and back again.

I pulled over before getting to my house and took one last pictures.
